A few surface scuff marks, minimal foxing spot upper right, otherwise in near excellent condition with a strong violet brown tone.

Views of the Palazzo Senatorio on the Capitoline Hill, Piazza del Populo, the Spanish Steps with Santissima Trinità dei Monti, Fontana di Trevi, Basilica San Giovanni in Laterano. Circa 1860. 5 albumen prints. Circa 30,5 x 39,5 cm, 27,5 x 35,5 cm and smaller. Mounted to card, 2 with Spithöver blindstamp in lower right corner on mount.

In good to excellent condition with strong violet brown tones.

Anderson, James. Neues Constitutionen-Buch der alten und ehrwürdigen Brüderschafft der Frey-Maurer. Worin die Geschichte, Pflichten, Reguln, etc. derselben, auf Befehl der Grossen Loge, aus ihren alten Urkunden, glaubwürdigen Traditionen und Loge-Büchern, zum Gebrauch der Logen verfasset worden. Aus dem Englischen übersetzt. 22, 382 S. Titel in Schwarz und Rot. Mit gefalteter Kupfertafel als Frontispiz und 6 typographischen Falttafeln. 17,5 x 10 cm. Pappband d. Z. (stärker berieben, Ecken und Kanten deutlich beschabt, Rücken etwas lädiert, Gebrauchsspuren). Frankfurt, Johann Benjamin Andreae, 1741.

VD18 1141796X (zweite Ausgabe 1743). – Im VD18 noch nicht erfasste erste deutsche Ausgabe der sogenannten Old Charges, der ersten Konstitution der Ersten Großloge von England, die von der Freimaurerei allgemein als ein Grundgesetz anerkannt wird und zuerst 1723 erschien, ausgearbeitet von dem aus Aberdeen stammenden Prediger und Freimaurer James Aberdeen (1678-1739). Enthält die Geschichte der Freimaurer in England, allgemeine Verordnungen, Verzeichnis der Logen in und um London etc. Das Faltkupfer zeigt eine Darstellung vom "Staats Schwerdt der Frey-Maurer Gesellschaft". – Leicht fleckig, Titel mehrfach gestempelt. Fl. Vorsatz mit dem hs. Vermerk "Vor der Vernichtung gerettet. Seesen, 1935". Der Eintrag erfolgte durch den Logenbruder Friedrich Ohms, der 1952 zum Logenmeister der Bad Harzburger Johannisloge "Zur grünenden Tanne" ernannt wurde. Und der das Exemplar offenbar vor dem Zugriff durch die SA im Zuge der immer drastischeren Verbote von Freimaurerlogen durch das Naziregime bewahren konnte. Mit dessen Namenszug und Stempel unterhalb des Eintrags. – Beigebunden: Anhang zum Constitutionen-Buch der Frey-Maurer, worin eine Sammlung verschiedener zum Vortheil dieser Ehrwürdigen Gesellschafft ans Licht gekommenen merckwürdigen Schutz-Schrifften, Reden und anderer Vertheidigungen, enthalten. 1 Bl., 188 S.
